My name is UFRPE. The Federal Rural University of Pernambuco. I'm also known as "Ruralinda", which means I am beautiful, because of my beautiful sites, full of green and diversified landscapes, from the coast to the backland of Pernambuco, a small giant state in Brazil.
With more than 111 years of history with wonderful memories, I've been through lots of changes, but I am always proud of having my roots deepened in the tradition with branches aiming at the future.
I'm divided into several academic spaces. My main campus is in the capital city of Recife. I have academic units in Serra Talhada, Belo Jardim and Cabo de Santo Agostinho. I am also present in the cities of São Lourenço da Mata, Tiúma, and throughout the state with several experimental stations and ecological units.
Another way of finding me is through my various Distance Education centers.
I offer 55 undergraduate courses in different fields of knowledge. From agrarian sciences to health, exact, technological and human sciences.
With emphasis on research, science, technology and innovation, I also have more than 41 graduate programs, including Masters and PhD.
I am also responsible for high-school and technical education students from the Dom Agostinho Ikas Agriculture School, also known as CODAI.
And, to welcome people of all ages, I offer courses for the Elderly, with the Open Formation University Program.
I appreciate activities of extension, culture and citizenship education as well, always intertwined with our society.
And since I mentioned people, I must say they are the most important part of what I am. Matter of fact, of what we are. Every smile boosts new accomplishments. Every heart beats at the rhythm of our development.
We are more than 20 thousand "ruralindas" and "ruralindos", students, professors, administrative staff, researchers and collaborators.
